&*(%$ THAT MUCH?!
As motorcycle buffs, we know the benefits of repainting a motorcycle body, whether it be to refresh the look of an older platform or to cover superficial dents and dings. Furthermore, custom paint additions manifest your personal tastes and transform your bike into a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Many factors contribute to the overall cost of a project. Our invoices are calculated by the professional technique, quality materials, and time that go into each bike. That being said, stellar custom work by Paint Mafia is not necessarily a budget breaker. Today we thought we would answer some common questions, and hopefully provide sufficient answers.
How much will this cost?
The cost of a project heavily depends on the materials required, the area to be painted and the level and amount of custom work, if any, is to be added. We generally charge $120 per hour plus materials. The typical starting cost to paint one complete bike is $1,200.
The cost of custom artwork depends on the level of intricacy. Free handed flames or skulls can start at $800, while a detailed portrait will be closer to $1,500.
How long will it take to paint my bike?
Paint Mafia works through their wait list as fast as time and quality allow.
Further, the painting process consists of a multitude of time consuming steps- each one crucial to the success of the whole repair. Specialty paint- such as CVO colors, candies, pearls and any paint with flakes may take additional time in the booth. Ceramic coating will be available to our customers in the coming months- stay tuned for additional information.
Does the color affect the price?
Not by much. Despite the fact that the cost of different colors of paint vary themselves, with black and white paints being the lower end and reds traditionally on the higher end; the customer won’t see a dramatic change on the bill.
We hope that we were able to shed some light on how we charge and what you pay for. If you happened to actually say “&*(%$ THAT MUCH?!” while reading this, give us a call anyways- every circumstance and project is different.
